Open Houses and Tours

Old House Society has organized and sponsored House Tours for more than 20 years to help people visit, understand, and develop an understanding and appreciation for our local historic homes. In addition the OHS sponsors individual open houses throughout the year whereby members open their houses so others can see and appreciate their preservation efforts. Previous open houses and tours are listed below.

Saturday, June 11, 2011 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.	OHS House Tour 2011 Our 2011 OHS House Tour is scheduled for Saturday, June 11. Our focus this year is on the White Place Historical District, including parts of Fell St, and Clinton Blvd. Tickets are on sale for $10.00 at the following locations: Casey’s Garden Shop, Garlic Press, Both Schnuck’s Bloomington / Normal, Country Gingham, Bill’s Key & Lock, David Davis Mansion Gift Shop, and the Old House Society’s warehouse at 214 E. Douglas St, On the day of the tour the ticket price will be $15.00 at either the warehouse or the information booth in Fell Park.
Saturday, June 19, 2010 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.	House Tour: ‘The Houses of Wesleyan’ The Old House Society is hosting its annual house tour. Help us celebrate our 30th anniversary by attending this very special event, ‘The Houses of Wesleyan.’ Enjoy this step back in time as you get to view Kemp Hall, Adams Hall, English House and Blackstock, with a nostalgic walk down memory lane. This is a rare opportunity to see inside these historic homes from our past.
December 4, 2009 5 to 7 p.m.	Bradford Open House Join us at 24 Whites Place, Bloomington, IL. Great couple with a great house, wine and appetizers to boot. R.S.V.P. by Monday, Nov. 30.
October 3, 2009 5 to 7 p.m.	The Behr Home Open House The Behr Home at 611 N. Lee St. will be open on October 3 2009 from 5 to 7PM for a social. Wine and hors d’ oeuvres will be served. Email or call Mike Ryburn to make your reservation now. Tickets are $10.00 each to benefit the Old House Society. The tour is limited to only 50 people and is on a first come first serve basis.

July 26, 2008 5-7 p.m.	Davis Rose Inn Bed & Breakfast Open House Join us for an open house at the Davis Rose Inn Bed & Breakfast. Cost is $10 per person and reservations are required.
